The College of Engineering at TUP Visayas traces its roots to the 1977 establishment of the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) Visayas as one of the government's prototype technician institutes. Its history is tied to the broader history of the Technological University of the Philippines, which began as the Manila Trade School in 1901 and evolved through various names to become a university focused on technological education. The specific college within TUP Visayas grew as the institute developed its programs, offering engineering and technology courses to meet the country's manpower needs. 

Establishment: TUP Visayas was founded in 1977 as a state higher education institution, with its engineering programs developing as part of its core mission.
Connection to TUP Manila: The institute is a satellite campus of the larger Technological University of the Philippines (TUP), which has a long history dating back to 1901 with the Manila Trade School.

Evolution: The overall TUP has evolved from a trade school to the Philippine School of Arts and Trades (PSAT), then to the Philippine College of Arts and Trades (PCAT) in 1959, and finally to the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) in 1978 through a presidential decree.

Mission: As part of TUP, the Visayas campus was established to provide technical and vocational education to develop scientific, technological, and vocational efficiency for national development.

Current Status: Today, TUP Visayas continues to offer engineering and technology programs, often collaborating with industry and government partners, and has received recognition for academic excellence in certain board exams. 
Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering

The BSECE program of TUP Visayas is a 4-year engineering course that provides comprehensive training in electronics, communications, automation, and emerging technologies. With a strong emphasis on hands-on laboratory work and industry-relevant skills, the program prepares students to design, analyze, and implement modern electronic and communication systems. Graduates are equipped for careers in telecommunications, electronics design, instrumentation, automation, and related engineering fields.

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

The BSME program of TUP Visayas is a 4-year engineering course that develops students’ competencies in mechanical design, thermodynamics, energy systems, manufacturing processes, and machine operation. The program emphasizes hands-on training, technical innovation, and real-world problem-solving. Graduates are equipped to pursue careers in industries such as manufacturing, power generation, HVAC, automotive, aerospace, and other fields requiring mechanical engineering expertise.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering

The BSCpE program of TUP Visayas is a 4-year engineering course that integrates computer science, electronics, and engineering principles to design and develop computing systems. The program focuses on embedded systems, computer architecture, networks, programming, and emerging technologies such as IoT and AI. With strong hands-on training and industry-aligned competencies, graduates are prepared for careers in hardware and software development, systems engineering, networking, automation, and other technology-driven fields.

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

The BSEE program of TUP Visayas is a 4-year engineering course that provides comprehensive training in electrical systems, power generation, transmission, distribution, control systems, and electrical machinery. The program emphasizes practical laboratory work, engineering design, and industry-relevant skills. Graduates are prepared for careers in power and energy, industrial automation, electrical design, utilities, and other fields requiring expertise in electrical engineering
